Freddie Mae Stern

Born:  31 December 1925
Died;  27 July 1986 - John Sealy Hospital - Galveston, Texas

Mother:  Bertha M. Finley
Spouse:  Excelsior Stern - 9 March 1947

Freddie Mae Stearn was born to the union of J.C. and Bertha Finley Joe on December 31, 1925 in Palestine, Texas
She attended school in Anderson County, where she graduated from Lincoln High School.
Mrs. Stearn united with the Antioch Baptist Church at an early age.  She remained a member until death.
She married Excelsior Stearn on March 9, 1947.  To this union, one daughter was born.
Freddie Mae departed this life on July 27, 1986 at John Sealy Hospital, Galveston, Texas
Survivors who will cherish her memory are her husband, Excelsior Stearn of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Freddie Lavern Jones, three sisters, Mrs. Essie B. Taylor of Houston, Mrs. Mary Lee Davis and Mrs. Elizabeth Grant, both of Shreveport, Louisiana; five grandsons, all of Palestine; and several other relatives and friends.
Services for Freddie Mae Stearn will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. James Bass officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery under direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stearn died Sunday at a Galveston, Texas, hospital.
She was born in Palestine on Dec. 31, 1925, a daughter of J.C. and Bertha M. Finley Joe.  She attended Palestine schools and graduated from Lincoln High School.  She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Excelsior Stearn of Dallas; daughter, Freddie Lauern Jones of Palestine; sisters, Essie B. Taylor of Houston, Mary Lee Davis and Elizabeth Grrant, both of Shreveport, La., and five grandsons.
